Gleichgültigkeit[...], das ist die stärkste Macht im Universum. Sie macht alles, was sie berührt, bedeutungslos. Liebe und Haß haben keine Chance gegen sie. Sie läßt Mißachtung und Verfall und unglaubliche Ungerechtigkeit ungesühnt durchgehen. Sie handelt nicht, sie erlabut. Und das verleiht ihr so viel Macht.
