tool - linux - manage systemV init scripts

I know it is simple but i searched for it three times. Three times searching is meaning "put it in a howto somewhere". Somewhere is here, so here we go :-). On debian/SystemV, i simple prefer the tool "rcconf" to manage the init scripts. I know there are "update-rc.d" and "file-rc" as well as other tools out there, but their syntax won't become natural for me.
