howto - HP Proliant MicroServer T40L - switching big fan

So i own a HP MicroServer T40L and it is indeed an improvement to me previous atom. The major benefit are the four hdd bays, the ecc memory and the standby current consumption of 1 watt. The only think that troubles me was the big fan at the back. So i searched a bit and found a great article i linked below. To speed the whole story up, they have tried a "Scythe Slip Stream SY1225SL12LM-P" Fan and changed the power connectors from "black-red-yellow-orange" to "orange-black-red-yellow". After that modification, they tested the fan and got some trouble that the system is warning about "no fan detected". Lucky as i am, i already own a SY1225SL12LM-P, so i tried to see whats happen. What can i tell you? Looks like i am the luckiest guy on the planet (in fact i am 'cause of my beloved wife and great friends - but thats an other story ;-)) since the system is up and running. The system only warns me, when i stop the fan "by hand". After a bit of zpool scrubbing, the temperature goes up to 43 degrees of Celsius. As i remember correctly, the temperature with the old fan was around 41 degrees of Celsius. Whats about the noise? The Scythe is a silent monster. Now the fan of the power supply competes against the noise of the hdds'. The source of my knowledge is an entry on silentpcreview.
