web - Brendan Eich Steps Down as Mozilla CEO

So its official now, Brendan Eich has lost the "social war" against his position as mozilla ceo (source).
If you ask me, thats not something the "community" should be proud of. Yes, he has done something that doesn't fit to a "white knight from the super land of happiness". But you know what? He is a guy who create a programming language, meaning he know what to do to create a good software product. And this would be the only yardstick i would have measured.
What has happened the last days wasn't something the so called open minded and tolerant community should have been done. "Go to a closed source and evil browser because the guy from the last fortress of open source webbrowser has done something i don't like", seriously are you nuts?
