Der Bundestag soll sich am Donnerstag nächster Woche im Plenum in 1. Lesung mit dem Gesetzentwurf für ein neues Leistungsschutzrecht befassen und ihn an die Ausschüsse des Parlaments weiterleiten. Eine echte Aussprache darüber wird es aber offenbar nicht geben: Nach dem ersten Entwurf der Tagesordnung ist die geplante Änderung des Urheberrechtsgesetzes als Punkt 43 für den späten Abend vorgesehen. Wie die Digitalen Linken berichten, sollen nach dem Willen der Koalition die Redebeiträge allein zu Protokoll gegeben werden.
Beim Streitthema Leistungsschutzrecht regt sich nun auch Widerstand gegen den vorgesehenen Ablauf. Die grüne Medienpolitikerin Tabea Rößner will gegen den Tagesordnungsentwurf beim Ältestenrat des Bundestags Protest einlegen. Dieser will den Zeitplan für die nächste Woche im Lauf des Tages festlegen. "Anbieter wie Facebook, Twitter und nahezu das gesamte Social Web könnten unter das Leistungsschutzrecht fallen", meinen die Linken. Es drohe eine massive Rechtsunsicherheit, die im Parlament prominenter beleuchtet werden müsse.

Als wir den FoeBuD gegründet haben, war der Name eine Anspielung auf
die komplizierten Abkürzungen der Deutschen Bundespost, die damals
noch für die Telekommunikation zuständig war. So dachten wir, der Name
für so einen "e.V." sei doch egal - wichtig sei, was wir tun.
Deshalb haben einen neuen Namen gesucht - und gefunden - und
anlässlich unseres 25-jährigen Jubiläums bekannt gegeben. Der FoeBuD
heißt ab sofort

Im Vergleich zum gewohnt (und mittlerweile auch gängigen) Namen "FoeBuD", klingt digitalcourage wie etwas "aus der Politik", quasi wie eine "FDP-TaskForce". Aber man wird sich schon daran gewöhnen. Das man das alte Logo nicht weiter benutzt ist ähnlich schade, aber letztendlich wohl nur wegen dem Druck der Ansteckplakettenlobby ;-).
A teammate at work asked me the question "how do you monitor your smart values from each device" and i could not answer him, since i do not monitor any smart values.
A quick research and now i am able to present him a good answer on Monday - even with some time to evaluate it :-D.
Smartmontools is the tool you have to choose. On arch, it is done with pacman.
pacman -S smartmontools
A quick look on the official wiki and the arch wiki, i roughly created the following smartd.conf.
The file can be found at "/etc/smartd.conf". Do not forget to remove/comment out the first "DEVICESCAN". The file is well documented, so it is an easy one (hopefully ;-)).
All you have to do is to add the smartd to you autostart (e.g. rc.conf). If you are using systemd, the following line is doing the job.
I heard my main zfs pool is scrubbing again so i decided to take a look on it.
If first started with refreshing my knowledge by using some zpool default commands.
zpool iostat 2
zpool status 2
Both upper commands displays important informations about your pool in an interval of 2 seconds. You can even add a "-v" if you want to know more ;-).
After watching the scrubbing for a while, i also remember the existence of some zfs attributes.
zfs get all
Et voilà, all attributes are listed very well.
I studied the attributes and was quite happy that i already configured a lot the right way. Compression was set to backup and tool, but not to image for e.g. The only thing i missed was the thing about the access time (atime). I really don't care about access time for my files, so it was time to disable this feature to gain some speed.
zfs set atime=off rpool
I was alos not shure if the following attributes are doing what i estimate of them.
